Have your cake and eat it...

First things first, I've been collecting pictures of ideas of cakes for a while just because I think you have got to do a bit of research of what you want before you go to a baker to make your wedding cake. As you can tell I want a floral design, my main flower is a daisy as it has always been my favourite flower throughout childhood and it is a piece of me. I will go on in more detail about flowers in another post because I could speak about them all day but I want the theme to carry through on my cake. I did find some other interesting ideas that I would not have thought of if I hadn't done some research though. As I have been collecting images as I go along I haven't got the names of the creators unfortunately but I wouldn't get exactly the same thing anyway, I want my own design input into it too.
I love this ruffle cake, I love the texture and the sweetness it looks like it has from the colour and it's an idea I would never have thought of, I have always assumed wedding cakes had to be floral and white.
I like the frilly icing idea, it looks like layers of lace, a real vintage feel to the cake. I like the vintage idea and I am going down the route of vintage countryside wedding
Again I like the frilly layered up icing at the bottom and how the shades of colour have gone from dark to light working its way up the cake. I also like the look of the two different textured layers of cake, one with the frills and the other with gathered flowers all over.
Daisies!! I like the idea of a simple flower shape of the daisy being repeated all over the cake and sprinkling down the cake to nothing at all.
Bigger daisies with a coloured flower, which is also another colour I have been looking at... cornflower blue, I think it represents English countryside, and vintage and wildflowers. I'm not sure about the placement on the cake but at least I know the two colours go well together.
Again not a white wedding cake and I'm thinking I actually prefer the coloured backgrounds... they look alot more sweeter and dainty, and sometimes white can be quite limiting. Again I like the clusters of daisies that scatter down the cake like it has been allowed to grow wild on this cake.
Lots of different sizes flowers, again I'm not sure of the placement of these flowers, I don't think I would want them just on the front, I want them to look wild, not like they have been placed carefully, if that makes sense....
I love this cake, it is based on vintage crockery and it looks amazing, I love the shades of orange and peach that gives it a vintage feel and it is such a different twist on a floral cake.

Now onto cupcakes, I'm not sure about having cupcakes as your main wedding cake as I have seen others do, a modern twist on the wedding cake, but I think I could include some to go with the cake to have to eat while guests are waiting for the cake to be cut. They look so pretty and dainty and everyone loves a cupcake! I like the different toppings you can have but on my budget I doubt I could get something so extravagant.
Simple and chic, so sweet and delicious looking.  Why do things have to be so over complicated? I love this
Even if you don't want fancy toppings, even the casings can be decorative. I like these lace looking cases very vintage with a modern twist.
A close up of the previous cupcakes...

More decorative cupcakes...

Again simple and chic and very tasty looking, I have a lot to think about!!

What cake shape, colours, decorations would you prefer?
